Avocados are a tree fruit with pear-like shape and rough, green or black inedible skins. Inside yields buttery-textured, creamy green flesh that has a mildly nutty, sometimes grassy flavor. Traditionally used in Mexican cuisine, but also popular in dishes 100% plate ready; refrigerated, never frozen.
